Katie Lam MP

Katie Lam has been the Member of Parliament for Weald of Kent since 4 July 2024, becoming the first MP to represent this new constituency. A former investment banker at Goldman Sachs, she then held senior roles in government, including Deputy Chief of Staff at 10 Downing Street and advising ministers in the Home Office and other departments.

Now serving as Opposition Assistant Whip and a member of the Transport Committee. A graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge—where she studied Classics and served as President of the Cambridge Union—she is also an award-winning lyricist and scriptwriter with work performed both in the West End and off-Broadway.

Katie brings together business, policy and creativity—and she’s passionate about supporting communities across Kent.
